March 15, 2021 – (New York, NY) –TLC Virtual Resiliency is announcing its partnership with the New York State Academy of Family Physicians to promote mental wellness by providing its 6-week program to help New York State physicians deal with the stress of practicing that has been so severely exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are extremely excited to work with NYSAFP and expand our reach to every member in the organization” said Robert Goldman, Chief Psychologist and Co-CEO. “We are confident that partnerships of this sort will not only equip physicians with resources to navigate these challenging times but will also continue to open dialogue about the needs of healthcare workers, and hopefully, will also serve to continue eradicating the stigma of receiving mental health services” he added.
“We are thankful for TLC efforts of creating a resiliency program aimed to strengthen healthcare professionals’ mental wellbeing and for including us in these efforts, we are looking forward to this partnership” said Vito Grasso, Executive Vice President of the New York State Academy of Family Physicians.
TLC Virtual Resiliency (TLC-VR) started in response to a direct call for help from professionals struggling emotionally during the pandemic. TLC is an organization that promotes mental wellness by offering programming that adapts to the needs of educators, healthcare professionals, human services workers, and law professionals. TLC’s goal is to make professional support accessible, affordable, and convenient—so anyone who struggles with life’s challenges can get the assistance they need.
The New York State Academy of Family Physicians (NYSAFP) has promoted family practice among medical students and has worked to enhance and improve the quality and stature of family medicine. NYSAFP has been a consistent and uncompromising advocate for patients in the public policy arena and has worked successfully for the development of family medicine at medical schools and hospitals throughout New York State. NYSAFP has developed programs for the clinical and leadership development of residents and young family physicians, and many of today’s leaders in family medicine are products of the numerous initiatives that NYSAFP has created and promoted over the years.
